Successful Goal Setting Secrets

Goal setting is the fundamental process for achieving a productive result for actions on every field of our lives. Although it seems simple it’s more complicated than we believe. There are definite rules you must follow in order to follow a successful path for your desires and dreams.

First you must decide what you specifically want. It sounds simple but it’s not at all. If it was we could have millions of people being successful and happy with their lives but we don’t. Have cleared in you mind what you REALLY want. You must have well-defined and crystal thoughts about what do you want in your life and no one else can do that for you. YOU have to do it.

Second write it down. Writing your goals simplifies the process and distinguishes your primary thoughts from secondary ones. For instance if you want to be a successful painter you have to write it down with the acts you should make for that goal.

Third is the “To Do lists”. These records consist of your daily, weekly, monthly and yearly actions for executing your plan of goals. Yes, you must plan your goals each and every day, week, and month, year in order to manage the process if it’s becoming a success or a failure. Do not throw out the old lists. They will help you to compare the old “impossible tasks” you had to do before. You will realize that the tough actions you did before are nothing compared to the actions you are doing now.

Do not set them too low. If you do you will not step away from mediocrity. Most people seek for the minimum, less efforts, less challenges, less responsibility. The successful ask for more responsibilities and challenges. That’s why they are so rare.

Do not loose your integrity. If you plan to become a millionaire don’t sell out yourself in order to succeed that. It would be a disaster becoming a wealthy person by exploiting other people and especially weaker. It’s not worth it and what matters the most is what you become not what you acquire.

Don’t set them too high. It’s nice planning to become a millionaire, but planning to do in three months is an outrageous claim. Don’t become a fantast. Your goals must be realistic and tangible otherwise you will be disappointed so soon and drop all your efforts.

Your goal setting must be continuous. Excellent

schedules this week and nothing at all the next leads to dead end. You must gradually develop the appropriate discipline in order to achieve that. Otherwise your efforts eventually will fail.

You must set priorities, where you have several goals, give each one priority. This helps you to avoid feeling overwhelmed by too many goals, and helps to direct your attention to the most important ones.

Set specific goals. They must be measurable. If you complete your specific and detailed goal you will gain confidence and become more capable for the next goal-challenge.

Analyze the goal. This step is important for being successful on your goal setting. You have to ask the right questions for the requirements of your goal such as:

What skills do I need to achieve this?

What information and knowledge do I need?

What help, assistance, or collaboration do I need?

What resources do I need? What obstacles can I meet?

Focus on yourself not the outsiders. Your goals should ONLY include the information and action plan relying on yourself and not outside influence. What is vital is your self’s improvement not your environment’s conditions.

Be Careful on timing. Your deadlines should have a balance. Don’t set too late deadlines but at the same time don’t set them too early because if you do, you will probably fail and be disappointed. Use a calendar or a diary. They are excellent tools for organizing your efforts.

Check your results. Always “have an eye” on your schedule if it’s going right on time or not. In that way, if you stay behind you will be able to do extra corrective actions to put your schedule right.

Finish the “tough” tasks first. Although it’s tempting to start from the easy tasks, by finishing first the difficult ones you will gain super confidence .The positive thinking you will get, will ultimately transform the next less difficult task even easier.
